Going through some old email messages today, I found a great article on evaluation of learning center programs published in the Learning Center Exchange. Check out the following link: http://www.learningassistance.com/2007/september/effectivenessoftutoring.html. At the LACM SIG meeting in Portland, several of you asked about how to conduct research to show the effectiveness of what you and your tutors are doing. I think this article will give you some help with that.

Hey, ya'all, here's another piece of information about evaluating the effects of tutoring on student success:
v35 n2 p56-65 Spr 2005: Assessing Academic Support: The Effects of Tutoring on Student Learning Outcomes, by Sharon Ishiki Hendriksen, Lifen Yang, Barbara Love, and Mary C. Hall. Karen Agee has posted this reference to the LRNASST listserv some time back.
